River frontage and game with farming potential
The farm Mountainview, situated in a conservancy area within the Krocodilpoort Mountains, has borders running along two rivers that converge into one river.
This was a conservation project initiated by farmers to preserve up to 27 000 ha of indigenous bush.
The land is firstly a game farm, which is partially fenced, allowing antelope to roam freely between the conservation areas. The farm has kudu, impala, nyala, bushbuck, Klipspringer, duiker, waterbuck, red duiker, bushpig and warthog.
The farm has a concrete dam wall that dams the water and pushes it up into the farm for up to 600m. This water can be used for domestic and animal use, but no irrigation rights have been registered. Previously, cattle grazed on the farm and has since been rehabilitated for conservation and preservation of natural habitat. There are 4 smaller dams and also an equipped borehole.
The property has 35km dirt road infrastructure to traverse the farm. There a numerous viewpoints and beautiful settings for residential developments. In time, the planning from Dept of Waterworks was to install a major dam which would increase opportunity to develop on the banks which would be approximately 11km of waterfront.
At the south side of the farm at the entrance, there is agricultural activity with 170ha of the farm having been identified as arable land.
